- Don't buy an Nvidia video card. (Tom's Hardware)
Because the leaks have already started for the upcoming 5000 Super family of cards, which are only very slightly faster but have 50% more memory.
Upgrading the 5070 from a middling 12GB of RAM to 18GB makes it a solid product that will likely last for years. The same goes for the 5070 Ti, already fairly good with 16GB of RAM, if somewhat overpriced; with 24GB it becomes a high-end model that is not going to easily become obsolete.
If you weren't inclined to pay that much in the first place, AMD's 9060 XT is still the pick of the litter, with 16GB cards going for less than an 8GB 5060 Ti.
Tech News
- Reddit made a deal to sell its content to AI companies for training. Now it's being spammed by AI bots. (9to5Mac)
Multiple ad agency execs confirmed to the FT that they are indeed "posting content on Reddit to boost the likelihood of their ads appearing in the responses of generative AI chatbots."
Tragedy of the commons on speed-dial.
- Trying out a low-end previous-generation AMD server. (Serve the Home)
It's 2025, so a "low-end previous-generation" server has 64 cores.
- In a welcome change, companies promoting AI in new products are finding it can make customers less likely to buy. (MSN)
Now they just need to stop putting AI in their products entirely.

I bet those 50 series Super cards will come with big price hikes, too!
Sure am glad I got a 4070 at a decent price. I would've preferred mroe VRAM but I've never run out so far, even at 5K.

So the best Amazon price for a 9060 is $380. Although I've never heard of the brand "Sapphire" (Amazon link). Gigabyte cards are getting downranked because apparently they spiked the price when they first came out, although they're only about $10 more expensive now.
Not sure why some have three fans and others have two. I could pull the trigger on this with a few benchmarks to console myself with.

I have an irrational hatred of the blonde guy from Pentatonix. I also used to think the girl was really cute, but she got her lips done and it drained all her character out.

To raise the price, of course. The 9060 isn't powerful enough to need 3 fans of cooling.
Sapphire's a pretty good brand, they're just not as well known in the US. 9070 will cost quite a bit more but will also give you a lot more capacity. You may or may not find you need it, which is fine.

Considering World of Warships runs faster than eyeball latency x2 with my 1080 card at 2K at max graphics, It's worth a shot, as long as the drivers still install on Win 10.
